Misssions

Koinonia financially supports several ministries both locally and abroad.  When possible members will participate in activities that these ministries do.  Below there are brief descriptions of these ministries, as well as, a link to its website.  Our desire is to help spread the message of the Gospel to the whole world.

African Bible College

African Bible College  are colleges located in Africa whose mission is to train Christians for pastoral ministry, Christian service and leadership. They are committed to proclaiming salvation through Christ only, spreading the good news of the word of God, and maintaining, preserving, penetrating and uplifting Christian principles.

AWANA Ministries

AWANA Ministries   missionaries equip leaders to reach children with the gospel and engage them in long-term discipleship.  T.J. and Kathy Sipes are the Awana missionaries that we support as they work throughout Mississippi and West Tennessee to help churches teach their children to know, love, and serve Jesus.

Center for Pregnancy Choices  

The Center for Pregnancy Choices  is a nonprofit medical clinic that has served over 20,000 Jackson Metro area women facing unplanned pregnancy since 1988.  They offer a variety of services from complimentary pregnancy tests, limited ultrasounds, and information on pregnancy options to support throughout the pregnancy and even after delivery. The center offers a wide range of classes and referrals on topics such as nutrition, healthy relationships, personal finances, how to set personal and career goals, etc.

Central Mississippi Correctional Facility

We participate in the religious programs offered by the facility. Through weekly Bible studies and a correspondence course, we seek to make disciples of inmates who wish to participate.  

Centre for Christian Missions (CCM)

The Centre for Christian Missions (CCM) exists to glorify God by fulfilling the Great Commission of the Lord Jesus Christ worldwide through evangelism, disciple making, and social action ministries.  This is being accomplished through our five-fold vision: CCM Trust School, CCM Bible College, CCM Theological Seminary, CCM Global, and Compassion Ministries.

Christian Law Association(CLA)

Christian Law Association(CLA)  provides free legal assistance to Bible-believing churches and Christians who are experiencing difficulty in practicing their religious faith because of governmental regulation, intrusion, or prohibition in one form or another.  They serve the Christian community through The Legal Alert radio program and newsletter, seminars on how to prevent lawsuits, estate planning, the Capital Prayer Initiative, legal help for homeschooling families free of charge, and praying for requests that are submitted to the ministry office.

Gateway Rescue Mission

Gateway Rescue Mission
The mission offers life-changing hope through the Gospel of Jesus Christ to homeless men, women, and children through programs that deliver food, shelter, counseling, and discipleship.

Mississippi Baptist Seminary

Mississippi Baptist Seminary  provides men and women with an interdisciplinary undergraduate/graduate professional education for the practice of Biblical theology. Their vision is to educate and develop Christians for worldwide leadership and service.

 

Pro Life of Mississippi

Pro Life of Mississippi  seek to state with the truth about the sanctity of human life from fertilization to natural death.  They provide educational material and host events in an effort to foster a sanctity of life ethic in Mississippi. In addition, take the pro-life message directly to those who threaten innocent human life.

REAL Christian Foundation

REAL provides both some of the needed money and training to community leaders in rural Mississippi. They also give them opportunities to connect with each other so they can share stories of success, failure, and possibly be resources for each other.

Southern Christian Services for Children and Youth  

It is a faith-based, non-profit organization that focuses on providing healing for children and youth who have experienced abuse, neglect, and abandonment.  They work to equip these youth so that they have the opportunity to have a more positive and productive future. In the PALS program, homeless teens are provided a comprehensive variety of services. They operate the only statewide program for post-adoption which supports adoptive and foster families. They also provide therapeutic foster care and adoption program for children with special needs and a statewide Independent Living Preparation Program which reaches out to all teens in the Foster Care System.

Stewpot Community Services  

Stewpot Community Services provides a myriad of services for children, elderly, disabled and poor persons in the community. The services they have available include a Community Kitchen, Food Pantry, Virginia’s Playhouse, Clothing Closet, Community Health Clinic, Legal Clinic, after-school children’s program, Chapel and Counseling ministries, emergency shelter, a drug work transitional program and a special needs program.

Voice of the Martyrs (VOM)

Voice of the Martyrs(VOM) offers practical and spiritual help to persecuted Christians around the world.  They are dedicated to inspiring all believers to deepen their commitment to Christ and to fulfill His Great Commission no matter the cost.

Mark and Estella Trostle -- Wycliffe Bible Translators

Mark and Estella Trostle — Wycliffe Bible Translators  – The Trostle’s work with the Papua New Guinean Bible Translation Association which is a local  Wycliffe organization.  They are working to translate the Bible into the languages of the 300 people groups that as yet do not have the Bible in their language. They also help with language development, literacy and other spiritual and physical needs.
